And Then There Were None

Concept: The drop cap cover is made to be the island that this book is set on. It was a dark and eerie atmosphere because a storm occurs at the beginning of the novel to foreshadow the coming events of the novel.

The conceptual cover is a small wooden house on the wall of the mansion the characters stay in. It is made to be a miniature version of the house they stay in, with different words in each room. This is because the separate rooms in the house have different meanings and important events in the novel. The small Indian statue on the cover also nods to the symbol of the Indian used through out the novel.

Our final project in Typography was to create two book covers for the same novel. One would be a drop cap cover, and the other was conceptual but still type-based. I chose the novel And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. The designs were created with Adobe Suite.
